Hmong tribespeople sent back to Laos
According to the UN refugee agency hundreds of Hmong villagers were repatriated to Laos from a local camp in Petchabun province on Friday.
The total number repatriated was 391, which brings the number of Hmong returned to Laos in the past three weeks to 1,228.
The latest batch of ethnic Hmong moved to Laos on Friday were taken from Ban Huay Nam Khao camp, Petchabun province, by the army, said the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
According to the UNHCR there was no information that the move was not voluntary.
Ban Huay Nam Khao camp still has around 6,000 ethnic Hmong living there, while hundreds more are either living outside the camp or have fled elsewhere.
Chiang Mai also has a huge Hmong population but there was no information that any of them were being relocated to Laos.

Laos Coup Plot Thwarted in California
Police have arrested nine people in California on charges of plotting to overthrow the communist government in Laos. The group includes Vang Pao, the 77 year-old former general in the Royal Lao Army who led CIA-backed Hmong forces during the 1960s and 1970s.
Vang Pao fled to the US after the 1975 communist seizure of power in Laos. He has been living in Orange County in recent years, and is well-known and respected among the Hmong community in the US for the assistance he has given them improving their lives.
