Look out in the near future for postings by a group of writers from VirtualTravelGuides.com, the company behind 1stopchiangmai.com and the rest of the 1stop series.
They'll be contributing to the vision of a breadth of views articulated by Watt in his introductory posting. We're looking forward to the fresh voices they bring, and their updates on what's happening in Thailand.

Laos Coup Plot Thwarted in California
Police have arrested nine people in California on charges of plotting to overthrow the communist government in Laos. The group includes Vang Pao, the 77 year-old former general in the Royal Lao Army who led CIA-backed Hmong forces during the 1960s and 1970s.
Vang Pao fled to the US after the 1975 communist seizure of power in Laos. He has been living in Orange County in recent years, and is well-known and respected among the Hmong community in the US for the assistance he has given them improving their lives.
The Bangkok Post has some local reaction to the ap story carried elsewhere. Here are a few more details of the charges.

There is also a thread at thaivisa.com. And here is the USGS report
